The Misunderstood Art of Manifesting
Before we go any further with this Lucky Girl Syndrome, let's set the record straight!
You may or may not be familiar with the Law of Attraction as used to Manifest. It’s become a popular writing piece among journalists these days and of course TikTok has accelerated it’s mass spread!
I get quite excited whenever something pops up on my news feed about “investigating manifesting” only to be disappointed that the writer didn’t really get it at all :(
So, here I want to give a little Manifesting 101, and hopefully this helps those on the journey who are still a bit bewildered by it all, or those who have no idea why this is trending but your curiosity has been peaked!
What is the Law of Attraction (LOA)?
On every occasion that I have read or listened to a definition or explanation of the LOA I have never failed to feel so full and so joyful at the pure profoundness of this understanding.
Put simply, the Law of Attraction states that you get what you think about. To be more specific; your life reflects the essence of what you think about. If this seems too simplistic lets dive into the mechanics of how that works.
Energy
I’ve come across people who comment that the LOA is basically nonsense or perhaps that it goes against their religious or scientific beliefs. Some even go so far as to say its victim-blaming. The truth is it doesn’t matter what religion you are or aren’t, the LOA is happening whether you like it or not. There are some techniques or tools you can use to manifest that may be labelled as “spiritual”, but let’s just be clear, this is also science. It’s the God Particle, if you like.
Scientific experiment doesn’t quite get it as this ether is unmeasurable. But what about the part that can be measured? And what does that have to do with the LOA?
The part that we can measure is called energy or better still we can call it vibrational energy (vibration). Every single thing in the universe is made up of energy that vibrates at a certain frequency. EVERYTHING WITHOUT EXCEPTION, including your thoughts.
The nothing, or no-thing-ness, that is also present is where the universal intelligence lies. The nothingness is where the potentiality of all things IS. In that sense everything that can ever be already is. Creation is complete. Manifesting is simply directing our thoughts to transmute energy into teasing out physical manifestations from potential. All possibilities exist, and your attention to them simply moulds your reality according to your conscious state (the essence of your thoughts).
Potential
“Think of the world as containing an infinite number of states of consciousness from which it can be viewed (…) with infinite plots and dramas and situations already worked out but not activated (…) All that you could ever desire is already present and only waits to be matched by your beliefs”.
This means that in EVERY SINGLE moment the no-thing-ness has unlimited potentiality of what form it will take. What manifests out of this nothingness can only be according to what a thing observes. And what we observe is entirely dependent on what we believe to be true or our imagination. Each tiny piece of matter that comes in to existence is a product of its environment or rather, it’s observer.
You may think that what you believe to be true about how the world works is universal, but our belief systems are not only a product of our “objective” external environments but the lens through which we’re seeing them, which is entirely subjective to our beliefs.
The fallacy of truth, explains why people can have wildly different memories of the same events and why we must start to question everything that we think that we know.
By constantly questioning what we are consenting to being true, we are taking back control of the narrative. We can manifest our lives rather than allowing things to happen by default of our conditioned thoughts and responses.
The Quantum Field
In his book, Breaking the Habit of being yourself, Joe Dispenza unravels the details of quantum physics describing the phenomenon of the observer effect,
“What quantum physics discovered was that a person observing the tiny particles that make up the atoms affects the behaviour of energy and matter. Quantum experiments demonstrated that electrons exist simultaneously in an infinite array of possibilities or probabilities in an invisible field of energy. But only when an observer focuses attention on any location of any one electron does that electron appear. In other words, a particle cannot manifest in reality – that is ordinary space-time as we know it – until we observe it”.
Further still,
“Quantum physics calls this phenomenon “collapse of the wave function” or “the observer effect”. (…) With this discovery, mind and matter can no longer be considered separate, they are intrinsically related, because subjective mind produces measurable changes on the objective physical world.”
In other words, our thoughts and feelings have a causal impact on what manifests in our world at a quantum level. We are the observer that produces that outcome, since our thoughts produce a vibration into our bodies at all times we are giving out a certain frequency. Our thoughts and emotions are the primary communicators with nothingness. Scale that up to the repetitive thoughts and expectations that we project onto the physical world every day, and you have the Law of Attraction.
Still with me?
The LOA as used to manifest is not some kind of pseudo science, or magical positive thinking. What we have begun to explore here is radically changing our understanding about how our reality is formed; understanding the zombie-effect of living life on a default setting and hoping for the best.
By digging deeper into why the LOA works we then have the space to explore how to regain the status of the captain’s of our own ships.
