Have you ever shared a moment or experience with another person and your recollections of that experience are completely different? Or been walking down the street with your kids and found that they are noticing things that are simply background noise to you? My guess is that you have experienced “split realities” many times throughout your life.
The reasons that this happens is because objective reality is subject to our individual perceptions, and our individual perceptions are coloured by what we believe, and our beliefs ultimately inform what we notice. In this sense we can say that what you desire to be part of your experience is already there, it’s just that it’s invisible to you in your current level of consciousness.
More scientifically speaking, the way we perceive reality, moving through time and space, is of itself an illusion. Everything that can exist already exists simultaneously. But in the name of coherence, our brain interprets reality as moving through time and space in a linear way. But if that’s not what’s actually happening then what does that tell us about manifesting?
Water to Wine
Many people on the journey of deliberately manifesting their lives (myself included at some point) think of manifesting as bringing an object or experience into existence. Either by attracting it (hence the term Law of Attraction) or creating it. But when we manifest what’s actually happening is that our altered states of consciousness move us between different realities - we are moving between worlds so to speak.
So manifesting is not creating insomuch as it is moving between realities. For simplicity we could for example say that by manifesting wealth you are moving from a reality in which you are poor to one where you are rich, by changing your state of consciousness. This is why embodying the feeling of the wish fulfilled is the key component to manifesting, because when you embody the feeling that’s already done you have essentially unified with that reality.
Although this may be a slight brain f*ck if you’re discovering this for the first time, it should be a joyful new understanding, because it suddenly makes all those times that you’ve read or heard change yourself first make sense. The whole notion becomes less of a cliché. Logically if all things already exist then our only job is to move into the reality we want to experience, and the only way to do do this is create an inner change, not try to force the outside world to change.
It also takes away the idea of anything you desire being out of reach. Since all possibilities exist you need not fear that your desire is too big, too selfish or too unlikely. It’s as likely as the reality your currently experiencing. But the probability of your moving into a different reality depends on your discipline with controlling your vibration - and that’s the hard part.
When we have gone through life with a certain set of beliefs and expectations about how the world is, it takes discipline to re-train your subconscious thoughts into new belief systems. One trick is that when you find yourself thinking in ways that limit your desires, you can ask yourself why I am consenting for this to be true? Then choose a new truth that will allow your manifestation. And do that over and over again until you BELIEVE it. Your current belief systems make what you want invisible to you, so you have to change your beliefs.
We can also consider how we can raise our vibration overall, so that we don’t only get one-off moments of manifesting an object, but can step into a new reality - the one that you prefer.
We do this by Raising Our Vibration
It’s important to understand that most of what follows here could be considered as tricking your mind, or ignoring your reality. And the idea is that you are gradually (or sometimes instantaneously) adopting new beliefs systems so that you can be in a different reality.
Mood Enhancers
It seems obvious, but as much as you can, do things that make you feel good. Things that have worked for me are:
listening to music and walking so that I can embody the energy of who I want to be
channelling the energy of a TV personality or someone that’s living the life that you want.
making an effort with what I wear and how I look to embody that energy
having a “rich person” routine
having a “rich person” attitude to money and adopting a better relationship with money
This should be a personal list, and depending on what you’re manifesting think of at least 1 or 2 things that allow you to feel as if your manifestation has already happened.
Paradoxes
The fact that you can imagine something different, even though it may seem paradoxical or contradictory to your current reality, tells you that the other reality also exists. I can’t stress strongly enough how much ignoring your current reality will help you manifest the reality that you want. The current circumstances of your life or your past experiences do not matter when it comes to manifesting your present, as all versions exist at the same time in an infinite number of ways. Could you even imagine 1000 different versions of your life? Probably not. So an almost infinite number of versions should give you some peace that the universe already has it covered. So you DO NOT need to keep dragging your past stories into your present desired reality. You DO NOT need to keep holding onto narratives, beliefs and parts of your personality that are not serving you. Stop being a prisoner to your thoughts.
Feeling Emotions - States of Surrender
States of surrender also allow things to manifest more quickly. One version of this is having absolute trust and faith that your manifestation is already done. The other is feeling your emotions, even when, no, especially when, they are negative. This seems to contradict feeling embowered by your new chosen state of being, but burying your emotions does not allow those belief systems to shift. Instead those emotions will hide-out in your subconscious and sabotage your manifesting efforts. You must feel. Feel without the stories and projections and ruminations. Just feel the emotion so that you have given it space to be and it will dissolve without getting trapped in your subconscious.
Feeling your emotions also has the same vibration as complete surrender. You may recall many times in your life when strong emotional collapse has led to a quick change of circumstances, and this is because feeling your feelings has made space to move into a different reality. It’s that “there’s nothing else to be done” feeling.
Think back to moments in your life when wonderful changes, moments, or synchronicities have occurred, and I am sure those moments will have been preceded by either a desire that you forgot about (surrendered) or a strong negative emotion (feelings your feelings). Both states are akin to movement in your reality.
Embodying the feeling - it already exists
I touched on this above but to recap, feeling like your manifestation is already done is the most important part of manifesting. This is not the same as hoping, wishing, begging or praying. These latter actions imply that you don’t already have it and therefore you hold your manifestation a part from you. Embodying the feeling that it is done aligns you with that reality and therefore it must become fact in your outer reality. Ignore the outside “facts” and feel as if it is already done. How would you think, act, be? How much would your inner-dialogue change? How might you feel when you wake up in the morning? Persist in these feelings and watch the inner self be pushed out into your reality.
Mindfulness and Presence
If you’re reading this, being mindful and being present is probably not a concept that’s new for you. These are practices we normally adopt to reduce stress and anxiety, and/or to simply be more engaged, focused and attentive to tasks or the people we are with. All worthy reasons to be mindful and present.
Secondary to this benefit when it comes to manifesting is also an opportunity to choose the consciousness and therefore reality that you want to be experiencing, even if it’s only in your imagination. If you are trying to manifest love for example, you could be having an imaginary conversation with your partner. If you’re on your way to work you can imagine yourself arriving to your dream job. The list goes on. Choosing your present state by being present within it, is very powerful. It helps to circumvent habitual and conditioned thoughts and reactions and instead to be more deliberate with moving through life.
Certainly this is more difficult to do when in the midst of the complete opposite to your imagined desire(s), but persist. Get delusional. Don’t worry of you can’t do this 100% of the time, its just needs to be enough of the time for your subconscious to adopt the new paradigm. Your brain cannot tell the difference between what’s real and what’s imagined so don’t feel foolish finding all the ways that you can to trick your mind.
Worthiness
Since you are consciousness manifested into human form, you are connected to everything. You are all versions of reality throughout all of space and time all existing, all at once. Nothing is in lack. You are everything. It follows that your worthiness, and therefore what you feel worthy of, should never be in question. It’s your calling to raise your vibration and experience the reality that you choose as the highest version of yourself. Living in your dreams and then realising them is not selfish. It’s the opposite of selfish.
Ultimately, manifesting is not the act of conjuring something out of nothing. It’s the act of making the invisible visible. It’s the understanding that it’s already done. And it’s the peace that comes with surrendering.
